What CEOs Most Want to Talk About
Chances are you’re either a high performer curious to see what’s waiting for you on the other side of C-level leadership or you’re a C-level executive ready to compare notes. Either way, I’m grateful you’re here.
So let’s get to it. What would you think CEOs would want to talk about the most? According to Entrepreneur Media, here are the top 7 topics CEOs were interested in talking about:
Overcoming addiction
Relationship challenges
Childhood trauma
Mental health
Crying and difficult emotions
Family issues
Anger
Are you surprised by the list above? I’m not. Once the glamor of making it to a top level position wears off, as they say, “Sh!t hits the fan” quite quickly. Beyond figuring out how to scale a company, what strategic decisions to make, and a whole array of other business and company related questions, leaders feel the effects of their role on their own health and that of their family already in their first year.
It’s no surprise that if you created a safe space for CEOs, the conversation would eventually go down this road if not immediately.
I’ve had the privilege of sitting next to and across many high performing leaders who’ve shared the very same things with me. Most the time, rather than business dilemmas, we’re often tackling personal ones.
And as a founder, entrepreneur, and C-level leader myself, I’ve gone through the same journey and ultimately stepped away from a company in 2019 to focus on my own mental health and self care, strengthen my marriage, and rebuild quality time with my kids.
If you can relate and need a place to begin, I’d recommend a mix of professional therapy, coaching, and deepened friendships.
Not sure where to begin? This topic hits close to home for me. I’m offering a pro bono 20-min call with me. I’ll have the company take care of the charge.
There’s no sell or even an intention to sell. If you truly need a space to get some of these things off your chest and be directed toward some helpful resources, I’ve created a special link to a call found nowhere else on my site and services.
